Our Philosophy

Magic Machismo is a leadership collective designed to promote healthy male leadership in a multicultural world. We recognize that society cannot fully reach its potential until men become better global citizens, community partners, and family stewards. We believe that healthy men are self-aware, compassionate, grounded, and emotionally intelligent. We believe that healthy leaders are cultural intelligent, balanced, strategic, and creative. However, none of those goals can be reached if male leaders abide by an old paradigm that that robs masculinity of its humanity.

As a result, we partner with businesses and organizations to cultivate male leaders who can be holistically successful, while celebrating the success of others. We develop male leaders who are evolved, accessible, and empathic. We use a multi-cultural and multi-dimensional approach that recognizes how masculinity is constructed differently based on diversity, experience, and pedagogy. The diversity and unique approach of our team allows us to engage and understand the sensibilities of men in ways that are safe, affirming, and growth-oriented.

We do not believe that men have no value in society, or that masculinity has no value.  Instead, we recognize that men have an enduring responsibility to promote equity, to support others, and to serve as role models in larger society. As a result, we are equipped to engage the modern male leader, as well as his stakeholders, to help move the team, the organization, and the community forward.

Whereas the model for leadership has historically been militaristic, hierarchical, and patriarchal, the needs of emerging ethnic and gender populations dictate that those models are antiquated, outdated, and at the very least, ineffectual. In many ways, these types of leadership are the hallmarks of male leadership. Yet, what is needed instead is a model of leadership that is more reflective, collaborative, and nuanced in order to facilitate effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making.

This doesn’t mean that men aren’t important or that men are disposable. To the contrary, like any critical segment of the global population, men and male sensibilities are needed in order to meet the challenges and solve the problems of the 21st century. The evolving nature of the world and the marketplace means that men must show adaptive qualities in order to be effective leaders in their spheres of influence.
